smartshell reno and serial renovation presented at AK61 in Darmstadt

The Working Groups for Cost-Efficient Passive Houses are continuing their long-standing tradition, now in its 61st round. We are extremely pleased and grateful to have had the opportunity to present our approach with the EnerPHit building system smartshell reno. Our sincere thanks go to the Passive House Institute (PHI) for their continuous organization of these pioneering working groups on the latest and most exciting topics in the field of energy-efficient construction. This special opportunity arose during the 61st working group meeting in Darmstadt, where Franz Freundorfer spoke.

Since 2007, smartwin has been gathering valuable experience in the field of serial renovation. The innovative concept of smartshell reno aims to minimize the building's external insulation to what is strictly necessary. Constructing entirely new wooden walls as a renovation method often proves to be costly and impractical. In this context, the smartshell cooperation has developed innovative solutions, especially for smaller buildings and wall surfaces. This globally active cooperation focuses on holistic building renovation rather than merely replacing individual components. This approach is crucial for sustainably reducing housing costs.

A deeper insight into this forward-thinking method is provided in the video from 27th International Passive House Conference Innsbruck "Serial Renovation as a Continuous Improvement Process", presented by Franz Freundorfer.
