Uw-Value, g-Value, Frame Width – Three Key Factors for a Good Energy Balance!
A good window does more than keep heat inside. It also lets the sun heat our homes. That is why the energy performance of a window depends not on a single value, but on how several properties work together. The Uw-value describes the heat loss through the entire window. The lower, the better. However, it depends on the window size and glazing. We therefore prefer to work with the Uf-value, as it describes the thermal insulation performance of the frame independently of the glazing and window size.
The g-value indicates how much solar energy passes through the glass. With g = 0.60, it is 60%; with g = 0.40, only 40%. That means 50% more free solar heat! In winter, these solar gains reduce heating demand. Frame width determines how much glazing area is available. Slim frames allow more solar heat, daylight and views. The window industry has paid too little attention to this aspect in recent years. After all, isn't the original purpose of a window to let light into our homes? A wide frame allows neither daylight nor solar heat to pass through and can therefore worsen the energy balance. In summer, external shading protects against overheating. This way, we use the sun when we need it and block it when it gets too warm. smartwin combines excellent thermal insulation with high solar gains and exceptionally slim frames. Because what really matters is the overall energy balance of the window.

Dobre okno potrebuje rovnako dobrú obálku domu. Pri renovácii už potom chýba len vhodné vetranie.
Koncom roku 2022 navrhujú Sepp Lorber a Franz Freundorfer nový predpripravený štandardný prvok pre sériovú renováciu malých vonkajších stien. Tento základný prvok môže byť vyplnený rôznymi izolačnými materiálmi a z vonkajšej strany ukončený omietkovou vrstvou alebo drevenou fasádou. Okno už obsahuje vonkajšie ostenie, parapet a podľa potreby aj tienenie. Všetky tieto prvky sa montujú už počas výroby okna. Integrácia vlastného vetracieho systému smartvent bude dokončená ešte v tomto roku.
Samozrejme, existuje aj verzia pre veľkoplošné časti vonkajších stien. Obe verzie je možné kombinovať v rámci systému smartshell reno.
